Session Abstract:
SNAP is the IFPUG methodology for measuring non-functional requirements. But how complex is it to apply in an industrial environment?

Sogei, a company wholly owned by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance, celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. After more than 30 years of using Function Points, the company has recently embarked on a journey toward measuring non-functional requirements through the adoption of the SNAP methodology.

Together, we will revisit this experience, analyzing the adoption strategies, the challenges encountered, and the solutions identified along the way. Is it really possible to integrate SNAP into established measurement processes? What certainties, and what open questions, emerge from a practical implementation?

Let us explore the answers together through the story of a real-world experience.

Speaker Bio:
A graduate in Computer Engineering with over 19 years of experience in various roles at Sogei, Fabrizio Di Cola currently heads the Software Metrics and Contract Performance operating line. He also holds internationally significant roles in the software metrics field: Director of the NFSSC and lead for ISO standards at IFPUG, as well as Vice President of GUFPI-ISMA, Italy’s leading association for software metrics. He combines technical and methodological expertise with an established track record as a speaker at national and international conferences, making him today one of the leading figures in the software metrics field.
