Business Applications Committee

The purpose of the Business Applications Committee (BAC) is to contribute to C-level and management decision-making using quantitative approach. The function of the BAC is to encourage and support the development and definition of standardized metric-based business practices utilizing unit of size based on IFPUG sizing standards such as: value based contracting, value based price modelling, estimating models, cost modelling, measurement, productivity models and analysis, productivity and quality indicators, and benchmarking analysis.

Functional Sizing Standards Committee

The Functional Sizing Standards Committee (FSSC) is responsible for the oversight and maintenance of the IFPUG Counting Practices Manual, serving as a forum for resolving issues in counting methodology, producing periodic guidance content for the membership such as case studies, white papers, iTips, webinars and videos. The FSSC will monitor the IFPUG discussion forums and continue supporting various interest groups.

Industry Standards Committee

The Industry Standards Committee (ISC) is working on behalf of IFPUG members to advance Function Points as an international Software Engineering Standard through ISO/IEC JTC1 SC7 and SNAP through IEEE. The committee also participates in the development and review of other related software engineering standards related to software lifecycle, artificial intelligence, internet-of-things, blockchain, quality assurance, software measurement, software process improvement and benchmarking. The ISC also fosters cooperation and collaboration between IFPUG and other standards communities such as: IEEE, NIST, TM Forum, ISBSG, OMG and other ISO standards committees.

The Partnerships & Events Committee's (PEC) mission is to discover opportunities to share software metrics methodology worldwide creating valuable partnerships with associations (ONG or commercial); create new training paths, involving CFPS members, to offer new opportunities and create value for the use of their certifications; share results, methodology and comparison studies worldwide through events (on site or via webinar) open not only to IFPUG methods, but compliant with ISO IEC 14143 series; enhance the reach of Function Points with strategically chosen themes for conferences by taking industrial and academic interest into consideration and invigorate the partner market.
