Abstract:
In the era of the internet of things (IoT) the boundaries of hardware/software combinations that were once standalone now have expanded. In your kitchen blenders, refrigerators, toasters, and other appliances can and now interact with each other, the cloud, and perhaps other organizations. Function Points and IOT or How My Kitchen Is Spying On Me! Explores some of the nuances of counting IFPUG Function Points in an interconnected, IoT envirionment.
Tom Cagley
Tom Cagley is a senior agile coach at Hyland Software. In the role of agile coach he actively seeks out process problems across Hyland’s development environment and facilitates solving problems. Mr. Cagley has over 20 years of experience in the software industry. He has held technical and managerial positions in different industries as a leader in software methods and metrics, quality assurance and systems analysis. Mr. Cagley is a frequent speaker at metrics, quality and project management conferences. His areas of expertise encompass management experience in methods and metrics, quality integration, quality assurance and the application of the SEI’s CMMI® to achieve process improvements. Mr. Cagley is the immediate past president of the International Function Point Users Group.
