We are proud to announce the publication of the ISO/IEC/IEEE 32430:2025 Software engineering — Software non-functional size measurement  Standard, a milestone that marks a turning point in software measurement. This standard, developed through extensive collaborative efforts, finalizes the process initiated with the ISO/IEC 20926:2009 FPA standard, completing a comprehensive software evaluation approach by addressing both functional and non-functional aspects.

A Transformational Achievement for IFPUG SNAP

The approval of this new standard for IFPUG SNAP strengthens our ability to provide transparent, objective and consistent software measurement. By complementing the existing ISO standard for IFPUG FPA, this milestone consolidates our commitment to delivering measurement methodologies that enhance the quality, reliability, and credibility of our processes. The synergy between both standards opens up a range of opportunities to improve benchmarking and project optimization within our community.

Key Benefits

  • Consistency and Accuracy: The integration of both standards ensures alignment with international guidelines, raising the rigor of software measurement.
  • Improvements in Benchmarking and Evaluation: Facilitates precise comparisons and establishes best practices that enhance efficiency across various projects.
  • Strengthening the IFPUG Ecosystem: This achievement highlights the strength and dedication of our community, demonstrating the global relevance of our methodologies.
