Current CSMS Individuals

What is it?

	An industry certification for individuals working in the field of software measurement
	An individual will be able to attain different levels of certification based upon credits that they earn in the areas of:
	~	Work Experience
	~	Education
	~	Professional Participation
	~	Measurement Related Publishing
	~	Teaching

What is the designation?

Certified Software Measurement Specialist (CSMS)

What are the levels?

There are 3 levels based on the number of earned credits; please see the process guidance document for details.

What are the components?

	There will be two components
	1.	A one-time exam
	2.	An application with packet of evidence which will support credits earned in the applicable areas. Please see the category templates document for details. Note: The exam must be passed before the packet of evidence can be submitted.

Do you have to be able to count function points in order to obtain the certification?

No
