About IFPUG

HOW TO BECOME AN IFPUG VOLUNTEER

IFPUG is an organization where much of the work is performed by members volunteering their ideas and time to designated efforts. In order that a member may easily indicate the areas they would like to be considered for as a volunteer, a Volunteer Form has been created. If you are interested and able to commit some time to helping IFPUG, please submit the form either online or by mail. You will hear back from either the IFPUG Office or, perhaps directly for a committee chair in one of the areas in which you indicated an interest. Please note that at the present there are very few openings but this may change at any time. Thus, if there are no openings at the time of your submission, your interests will be kept on file and you will be contacted when there is an opening.

Procedures for volunteers
1. Volunteer obtains a copy of the IFPUG volunteer form one of the following:

3. Wait for a call from a committee member, project leader of the IFPUG Office.

Procedures for Committee Chairs/Project Leaders
As some members have indicated an interest in knowing what will happen to their Volunteer Form submission, the process for handling Volunteer Forms is outlined below. If you have any questions, please contact the IFPUG Office.
1. Will be forwarded a copy of the Volunteer Form received by the IFPUG Executive Office.
2. Committee Chair/Project Leader will contact volunteers to fill positions needed.
3. After staffing is completed, the Committee Chair/Project Leader will notify the IFPUG Office of the following:
  Assignment made.
Not assigned but leave in volunteer pool.
  Remove from volunteer pool.
4. Return comments/information to the IFPUG Office. Also send in any changes to the current committee/project team member roster, such as, losses or changes to contact information.
5. If insufficient volunteers are available, the Committee Chair/Project Leader can solicit volunteers directly through other sources, such as calling known experts and contacts. This should be done only after using the volunteer database. Volunteers obtained in this manner still need to complete their profile and have it entered into the database.

IFPUG Office Procedures
1. Supply copies of the Volunteer Profile, Volunteer Form and Staffing Request forms as needed.
2. Upon receipt, enter information into the database.
3. Upon receipt of a Staffing Request, query the database and produce a list of all volunteers that match their requirements. List should include name, company, address, telephone and fax numbers.
4. Forward this list to the requester as soon as possible.
5. Upon return of the reviewed Staffing Request, update the database and committee/project membership lists.
6. Forward updated committee/project membership lists to Board, Directors and Committees as appropriate.
