NEW ENVIRONMENTS COMMITTEE

Mission
The New Environments Committee's mission is to:

Provide guidelines on how to apply the existing function point counting rules to new and emerging environments
Ensure the long term viability of function points by promoting its usage in new/emerging environments
Identify emerging computing technologies through working with educational institutions and industry experts
Provide input to the Counting Practices Committee (CPC) on how to enhance the counting rules so that they will be applicable to emerging environments
Provide feedback to the membership on the status of applying function points to new and emerging environments
Act as a check & balance to the CPC to help ensure the counting rules continue to be applicable to new and emerging environments

Primary / Current Activities
Create and publish white papers to provide members assistance in counting in New Environments.
Create and publish case studies applying current CPM rules to live applications.
